As one of the world’s leading manufacturers and suppliers of marine equipment for boats, yachts and superyachts, Italian company Quick Group is constantly pushing the innovation envelope to deliver a wide range of solutions in everything from stabilization and lighting to windlasses and control systems.
Now, the Group is set to advance the industry again through its QSY range of electric thrusters, which draw on proprietary synchronous brushless technology to deliver enhanced thruster power and control with reduced noise and energy consumption.
As well as expanding and completing the QSY thruster range and introducing a new console control interface, Quick Group is also launching QCentric – a new system architecture that will seamlessly integrate a growing portfolio of Quick Group products as well as external solutions and systems.
Expanded QSY thruster options
Quick Group has extended its range of QSY electric thrusters with the launch of several new units plus a new 215mm thruster tunnel. The new models complement the existing line-up and create a comprehensive matrix of solutions from the 12-volt BT QSY 140-50, which offers 50 kgf of thrust with a 140mm tunnel, up to the 48-volt BT QSY 300-350, which delivers up to 350 kgf of thrust with a 300mm tunnel. Moreover, alongside the new thruster units Quick Group has introduced a new 215mm tunnel to fill the gap in the range between the 185mm and 250mm tunnels.
The expanded range guarantees optimized thruster selection for boatbuilders and customers, including comprehensive options in the most popular size brackets, and means Quick Group now offers a market-leading solution for vessels ranging from 7-metre centre console dayboats to luxury 30-metre superyachts. In addition, dual power supply options – with 12V/24V and 24V/48V capability depending on thruster model – offer shipyards and end users the ultimate in system flexibility.
“These new models, and the modularity introduced with the new 215mm tunnel size, mean that the QSY range offers anywhere up to 350 kgf of thrust, and allows boatbuilders to adopt the same brushless technology across a very wide range of vessels up to 30 metres – or even larger, depending on hull geometry and weight, or whether a builder opts for a dual-thruster installation,” says Lorenzo Mongiardo, Chief Technical Officer at Quick Group. “We listened to the market, then developed each model to achieve the exact amount of thrust we wanted, including dedicated tuning to ensure specific outputs while allowing for multiple power supply options.”
The technology used in the QSY range represents the next generation of electric thrusters. Alongside the high-efficiency synchronous brushless motors, the range features integrated inverters, native proportional control, immediate torque response, lower power consumption, reduced maintenance, and quieter operation.
Introducing Pacific and QCentric – new controls and platform architecture
Quick Group has also been busy developing both a new control interface and system architecture that will underpin not just the QSY range but which will extend to other products in the Quick Group catalogue. The new control interface range is called Pacific, and it represents the evolution of manoeuvring systems by combining the innovation of the QSY brushless thrusters with a new generation of controls conceived to deliver a more intuitive, integrated and digital user experience.
Designed to work across all the thruster ranges Quick Group offers, the Pacific controller has been optimized for the QSY series. It will be offered in three model variants – T1, T1XL and T2XL, to suit different thruster installations and yacht sizes – and will fully exploit the QSY series’ capabilities in terms of proportional control, manoeuvring precision, diagnostics and digital integration.
“In developing the new controls, we focused on straightforward implementation,” says Mongiardo. “It’s really a perfect match between the QSY thrusters and the thruster controls. Moreover, the installation is very easy and compact, and the T1XL and T2XL units occupy the same footprint on the helm console so if, for example, a customer decides to upgrade by adding a stern thruster – which means an extra control stick – it doesn’t require cutting a different hole in the console.”
The Pacific series can seamlessly integrate with third-party manoeuvring and control systems, including established OEM platforms such as Volvo Penta, Mercury Marine, and Xenta.
Integration is supported through dedicated gateways and NMEA 2000-compatible communication connections, ensuring interoperability within modern onboard electronic architectures.
At the core of this ecosystem is QCentric, the technology platform on which Quick Group’s products operate and will continue to evolve. More than simply the adoption of a new communication protocol, QCentric represents a shared technological framework designed to enable future integration between products, functions, and technologies across the different divisions of the Group.
As the foundational architecture for Quick Group’s innovation roadmap, QCentric will support the future evolution of Quick systems and drive the next generation of integration across the Group’s diverse product families.
“QCentric, at its core, is a CAN bus protocol, but for us it’s more than that – it’s an open and scalable ecosystem designed to connect products, functions and technologies through a common architecture,” Mongiardo explains. “The Pacific thruster control is the first system to use it, but QCentric was born with the intention to integrate Quick Group products such as our thrusters, stabilizer fins, windlasses and other solutions, and also to be open to other systems from our partners and other companies.”
QCentric achieves this through support for industry-standard communication protocols such as NMEA 2000, as well as dedicated gateways and interfaces through which other systems that use Quick Group thrusters and other equipment can be connected, meaning seamless integration with third-party joysticks and assisted maneuvring systems. This level and ease of integration allows for broad implementation, and means that boatbuilders can work across everything from the smallest boats to bigger yachts without changing the architecture and infrastructure behind the system.

Quick Group will unveil the new complete QSY thruster range, the Pacific control interface, and QCentric ecosystem in a world premiere at the Cannes Yachting Festival which runs from 8 to 13 September (Stand Vieux Port - PAN357)
Following its world premiere at Cannes, the new technologies will be showcased at the Genoa International Boat Show (1-8 October 2026) at Quick Group’s booths in Padiglione B Superiore (TG20-TH19) and dock YE801A, and will be also presented to the US market at the IBEX Show in Tampa, Florida (6-8 October 2026), booth 3-1547.
