Quick USA proudly participated in one of the most significant sustainability milestones in the global marine industry during the São Paulo Boat Show 2025.
Represented by Quick USA Managing Director, Marco Santoro, and LATAM Sales Manager, Camila Fabre, the team attended the official cocktail hosted by JAQ Apoio Marítimo, celebrating the launch of the JAQ Explorer Project — the first vessel in the world powered entirely by green hydrogen.
Quick USA was personally invited by JAQ’s founders to attend the event and was formally acknowledged during the presentation for its technological partnership and support in advancing the project’s sustainable innovation goals. This public recognition highlights Quick Group’s leadership and commitment to developing marine technologies that promote a cleaner and more responsible industry.
A Global Innovation: The JAQ Explorer Project
The JAQ Explorer H2, built in collaboration with Itaipu Parquetec and leading Brazilian research institutions, represents a pioneering initiative for zero-emission maritime operations.
This vessel will make its international debut at COP 30, held in Belém, Pará, Brazil, in November 2025, as a demonstration of Brazil’s leadership in green hydrogen technology and its contribution to the global energy transition.
The project involves the construction and adaptation of two vessels — Explorer H1 (50 meters) and Explorer H2 (36 meters) — which will serve as floating laboratories and classrooms dedicated to education, environmental research, and technological development. Both vessels are designed to operate entirely on green hydrogen, generating all onboard power with zero greenhouse gas emissions.
Beyond their environmental mission, the Explorer vessels will host scientists, students, and environmental leaders, becoming a global platform for the study of Brazil’s diverse marine and river ecosystems.
Quick USA’s Contribution: Sustainable Technology at Sea
Quick USA contributes to this landmark project with its Quick Nautical Equipment XR8 Windlass, a reliable solution designed to meet the strict efficiency and environmental requirements of the JAQ Explorer vessels.
The XR8 combines energy-efficient operation, lightweight design, and superior corrosion resistance, aligning perfectly with the hydrogen propulsion and onboard power systems.
“Being part of such a visionary project reinforces Quick Group’s purpose — innovation that respects the ocean,”
said Marco Santoro, Managing Director of Quick USA.
“This partnership reflects the growing leadership of Latin America in sustainable boating, where technology and environmental responsibility come together to create real change,”
added Camila Fabre, LATAM Sales Manager.
Looking Ahead: JAQ2 and the Future of Sustainable Navigation
Following the Explorer H2’s upcoming presentation at COP 30, Quick USA is already in discussions to take part in the next phase of the program, JAQ2, with an expanded role in onboard energy management, automation, and stabilization systems.
This collaboration represents more than a product partnership — it’s a shared vision between the Group and JAQ to redefine what sustainability means in marine innovation. Together, they aim to set new benchmarks for the next generation of hydrogen-powered vessels.
About the JAQ Project
The JAQ Project, led by JAQ Apoio Marítimo, is the result of a collaboration with Itaipu Parquetec, scientific institutions, and industrial partners dedicated to decarbonizing maritime transport.
With an investment of US$ 25 million, the project’s mission is to demonstrate the viability of green hydrogen as a marine fuel, turning Brazilian innovation into a global example for the shipping and yachting industries.
At its core, JAQ promotes education, research, and environmental awareness, using its hydrogen-powered vessels as tools to explore and protect Brazil’s natural biomes.
